The classes that are available at Tribe Tokyo MMA are listed below.

Basic Class

MMA Class

This is a Mixed Martial Arts class. We incorporate all aspects of MMA from striking to grappling in the same setting.

Takedowns, Takedown defense, ground & pound, etc.

For safety reasons, we require members to reach a certain level at both striking and grappling classes in order to join the MMA class.

Striking Class

This is Boxing and Kickboxing class. We focus on teaching and correcting the basics of striking starting with the form. The striking class also is designed to help your stamina increase. The quick movements incorporated in the striking aspect will help increase your reflex time.

Grappling Class

This is a Wrestling and Submission Grappling class. This class involves practicing joint locks and chokes with a partner. Unlike like Jiu-Jitsu, Gi’s are not required. T-shirts and shorts are fine for our grappling class.

Jiu-jitsu Class

This is a gi (kimono) only class. Although many jiu-jitsu tournaments have very little action from the standing position, this class will also focus on standing judo and wrestling techniques. Members of this class vary from beginners to pro fighters but partners will be paired based your own level in jiu-jitsu which creates and safe and fun environment to learn. By mixing judo and jiu-jitsu, this class will teach and strengthen techniques that can be beneficial for beginners and MMA fighters.

Throws, Ukemi (breaking falls), Guard passes, chokes, joint locks, sweeps, and more.

Physical Class

This is a physical fitness class. This class involved circuit training and/or weight lifting in a group. From personal fitness to athlete level fitness, this class should meet your needs.

Yoga Class

Our yoga class offers learning yoga moves from a trained instructor and massage therapist. Yoga classes are great for those who have not exercised in a while or are not confident in their fitness level. Yoga classes are not included in the gym membership fee.

Times: Every Saturday 10:45am-11:45am
*The weight lifting area will not be available during the yoga classes.

Price: 1000yen/class for non-Tribe members.

Lower body & hip up

Kids Class

This class is for kids above the age of 5 and below middle school. This class will focus on the foundations of martial arts starting with manners. We also want to teach kids to stay focused through martial arts. Martial Arts is a great way of teaching kids how to overcome obstacles through hard work and teamwork. We hope that the kids grow from attending this class.

*in some cases, middle school kids will be able to attend the class depending on their size.
*For safety reasons, we cannot allow the kids to use the gym outside the kids class timeslot.
